Introducing Sparrow, a new collection of bespoke solid oak freestanding outdoor kitchen furniture inspired by the character and craftsmanship of the English country house.
Crafted from air-dried solid oak in a natural finish, Sparrow takes its cues from traditional Georgian furniture. Turned legs, beautifully balanced proportions and solid brass handles, faithfully reproduced from Georgian originals, give the collection a distinctly English feel. Each piece has been created for contemporary outdoor living and is custom-designed and made to order at sizes to suit each client’s requirements.
The collection includes outdoor kitchen cabinets designed to house grill barbecues, Big Green Eggs, sinks and other appliances, alongside generous kitchen islands with seating, and solid oak dining tables. Pieces can be used together to create a complete outdoor kitchen and dining space, or combined with Huckleberry’s existing Classic collection for a more relaxed, collected-over-time look.
The name Sparrow has a nostalgic connection for our founders, Matt and Claire Podesta. Claire’s grandparents lived at Sparrow Hall in Suffolk, a Tudor farmhouse set in a rambling garden which formed part of the inspiration behind the collection. Summer days were spent having childhood adventures in the idyllic garden, always followed by tea on the terrace at five o’clock sharp.
“We wanted Sparrow to feel as though it could always have been there, furniture with the character and proportions of pieces you might find in an old English country house, but designed specifically for the way we live outdoors today. The turned oak legs and Georgian brass handles give it a sense of familiarity and permanence. Every piece is bespoke and designed around the individual client, their space and the way they want to cook and entertain outdoors, so each kitchen feels entirely at home in its setting.”

Sparrow joins Huckleberry’s Kilifi and Eloro ranges of outdoor furniture and tables, alongside the Classic and Contemporary freestanding outdoor kitchens. Although designed for outdoor living, Sparrow works just as well in an indoor kitchen, allowing the same design language to flow from kitchen to garden. Pieces can also be mixed across the ranges for a more relaxed and eclectic feel.
