Each piece is made to order. The standard production time is approximately six weeks from drawings sign off, however during very busy times this can be more, so please contact us for an accurate lead time.

Huckleberry furniture is made in our workshops in the south-west of England using solid oak air-dried oak. It is traditionally made, with brass screws and butt hinges, hardwood dominos, mortice and tenon joints and stainless steel feet and fixings. We make all our drawers in a traditional side slide way, no modern runners to go rusty.​​​

We offer delivery, fitting and installation to mainland UK, the cost of which will be included in your project estimate.  We regularly work with international clients, both trade and individuals, and routinely ship our furniture to the USA, EU and beyond. Oak can be kept outside all year round and is fit for all weathers. As a natural material, exposed to the elements, the wood will change in appearance. Weathered Oak will develop a beautiful silver- grey patina, which will highlight the grain patterns unique to Oak. It is also worth bearing in mind that oak contains natural tannins which, in the first year or two, will come out of the oak with rainwater. This can sometimes stain natural stone tiles below, which can be removed with oxilic acid. Huckleberry takes no responsibility for any staining. Water marks on the oak furniture can be wiped with a damp sponge.

All electrical and gas works need to be carried out by a recognised specialist. Plumbing can be more straight forward, but again we would recommend you use a specialist tradesperson for support.

To help keep your Garden Kitchen in the best condition, there are some steps you can take: • It should not be in constant contact with grass, soil or other damp ground. • Oak is easy to maintain with a regular clean with a stiff nylon brush, warm water and a pH neutral detergent. Always scrub along the grain of the wood. • Never clean with a pressure washer as this will damage it.

We recommend a thorough clean before covering with a breathable cover once your Garden Kitchen is dry. Appliances are outdoor rated and will withstand the elements throughout the year. We advise emptying and cleaning of the grill drip tray and shutting off the gas valves if they are not being used.

Yes, we can. We offer bespoke winter covers in charcoal or sand colours. Just let us know what you would like and we will make them for you!

Yes, all of our outdoor kitchen furniture is bespoke. Every piece is handmade to order so that it fits exactly as you want it. If there is something that you would like but you haven't seen it on our website, just get in touch and we would be happy to design it for you.

Yes – our furniture is designed so that wooden or stone worktops can span multiple freestanding items. You ca configure it side by side, an L-shape or however you need it. We would be happy to come up with ideas and design your layout. Please contact us or book a design consultation.

Dekton is a very strong porcelain, which can be used outdoors as it is not affected by sunlight or frost and its colour remains true. It is also very resilient to high temperatures unlike other manmade worktops like quartz which can fade or crack in sunlight and heat when used outdoors. Please note that Dekton resists temperatures up to 400°C, tolerating contact with hot cookware like light pans and coffee makers. Use trivets or heat mats for protection. Do not place a heavy pan or krono barbecue directly on the Dekton.

We use FSC sourced woods and wood waste is used for heating, recycled or reused. We have designed all of our furniture with the latest nesting CNC technology in mind. This enables us to utilise every spare piece of wood where possible and reduces our waste. We support Moor Trees who plant a tree for every piece of Huckleberry furniture we make. Moor Trees is a charity dedicated to restoring native woodland on Dartmoor and South Devon, a part of the country where we have spent many happy times. The charity wants to see 10 million trees take root on Dartmoor by 2050, through carefully planned planting and natural regeneration which will increase tree cover from 12% now to one-third of the landscape. This will revitalise depleted habitats, increase biodiversity, expand existing wooded river valleys and create woodland corridors for our declining woodland wildlife. We offer Wolf, Flammkraft or Beefeater gas BBQ grills (which can have a fixed gas supply or bottled gas), Big Green Egg kamado BBQs, Blastcool fridges, and Sunstone ice chests. We recommend you buy Gozney pizza ovens directly from Gozney. If there is a particular appliance you would like, just let us know.

Huckleberry Garden Kitchens come with a five year warranty as standard. However, your furniture should be looked after properly and we will not cover furniture that is abused, left uncovered and open to winter frosts, sea water or extreme weather. For appliances the standard manufacturer warranty applies, documentation for which is supplied with the appliance. Registration should be completed by the client.

Oak is a wonderful and natural material, it comes in quarter sawn sections and we machine it down to suit our proportions and needs. All wood has variations and oak is no exception in that sometimes parts are lighter, others might have more figuring or even a bit of sapwood. We embrace these natural variations and whilst we take every effort to keep the look and appearance consistent, we do however allow character and will leave some knots and small natural ‘notes’ in our furniture. It is also worth bearing in mind that oak has natural tannin in it, which means that it will change colour over the first season or two, some of the tannins will run out when it gets wet, but as time moves on it will settle into a softer grey. When it is looked after properly will soon take on its own care worn character. You only have to look at traditional oak outdoor furniture in outdoor settings to get an idea!
